      Purified water

      Water is the natural foundation of a cream. After all, water makes up 70% of our body. It is the main component of both our organism and our skin. For this reason, we do not use plant juices. Our creams are a combination of water and oils. However, cosmetic products do not simply use tap water, as tap water contains two things: minerals and microorganisms. Therefore, distilled water is used in cosmetics production.

      Pure oil

      Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride are medium-chain fatty acids that form the oil base in our Hautcreme+. These fatty acids are highly compatible with the skin and non-comedogenic, meaning they do not cause blemishes. The complex name comes from the combination of capric acid and caprylic acid: Caprylic (caprylic acid), Capric (capric acid), and Triglycerides (neutral fats).

      Moisturizer with antimicrobial properties

      Pentylene Glycol helps preserve our Hautcreme+ while offering more than conventional preservatives. It provides hydration and enhances the delivery of active ingredients into the skin. In professional terms, it’s known as a "penetration enhancer"—a substance that facilitates deeper absorption. Additionally, our Pentylene Glycol is sustainably derived from sugarcane and corn and is ECOCERT-certified.

      Squalane helps improve skin hydration and is a natural component of the skin’s lipid barrier, making up 15% of it. It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth without any greasy residue. We use COSMOS and USDA Organic-certified squalane, sustainably derived from sugarcane.

      Main component of sand

      This naturally occurring mineral is found in nature, for example, as the main component of sand. In cosmetics, silica is primarily used as a thickening agent. It also helps improve the distribution of cream ingredients. In our Bodylotion+, silica enhances the texture, ensuring the lotion applies even more smoothly and pleasantly.

      Natural emulsifier

      A compound (ester) made from glycerin, stearic acid, and citric acid. This ester acts as a natural emulsifier, allowing the oil- and water-soluble components of the Dayshade Cream to blend seamlessly.

      One of the "good" fatty alcohols

      Cetearyl Alcohol is a fatty alcohol that enhances the texture of our Bodylotion+, provides rehydrating effects, and adds extra stability to the formulation. Unlike regular alcohol, it does not share any of the negative properties often associated with alcohol in cosmetics. Naturally, we use a certified natural cosmetic-grade version.

      Organic shea butter

      Shea butter is used in creams as a premium, natural lipid component. It is particularly suitable for this purpose because it contains many fatty acids that naturally occur in the skin barrier, making it especially effective for nourishing the skin. Our African shea butter is certified organic. By purchasing it, we support projects in Burkina Faso, where approximately three thousand women around the capital, Ouagadougou, collect shea nuts.

      Glyceryl stearate is an emulsifier, meaning it enables the mixing of oil- and water-soluble components. What makes it special is that glyceryl stearate is of natural origin, created through a chemical reaction between glycerin and stearic acid—both naturally occurring substances in the body. Additionally, glyceryl stearate has replenishing properties that support the skin barrier.

      Sucrose distearate is an emulsifier, a substance that enables the blending of oil- and water-based components. Derived from sucrose and stearic acid—both of natural origin—it is formed through a chemical reaction. Sucrose and stearic acid naturally occur in the human body. In addition to its emulsifying properties, sucrose distearate is also rehydrating, supporting the skin barrier.

      Dipropylene glycol belongs to the chemical group of diols, which are a skin-friendly alternative to alcohol. Diols improve the skin's absorption capacity and provide moisture.
